The Role

This is a hands-on DevOps role focused on improving and evolving the infrastructure and deployment workflows that support distributed systems operating at scale.

You will work closely with software, data, and platform engineers to enhance deployment pipelines, improve system observability, and contribute to the reliable operation of both cloud and hybrid infrastructure. The role also includes exposure to telemetry, monitoring, and data collection systems that support future analytics and machine learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Platform & Infrastructure

  • Support and improve cloud infrastructure used to deploy and operate distributed systems
  • Assist in managing hybrid environments combining cloud and on-premise components
  • Contribute to system reliability, scalability, and security
  • Help maintain and evolve Kubernetes-based environments
  • Support fleet-level configuration and operational tooling

CI/CD & Automation

  • Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Automate build, deployment, and operational workflows
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices and standards
  • Reduce friction in engineering and release processes

Observability & Reliability

  • Support monitoring, logging, and telemetry systems
  • Improve visibility into system performance and health
  • Assist in incident analysis and root-cause investigations
  • Contribute to proactive system monitoring and optimisation

Collaboration

  • Work closely with backend, data, and platform teams
  • Participate in DevOps best practices and technical discussions
  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement

Your Profile
Essential Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or similar roles
  • Hands-on experience with containerised environments:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Helm or related ecosystem tools
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
  • AWS (EC2, S3, EKS or similar)
  • Azure (VMs, storage, AKS or similar)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Scripting and automation skills using Python and/or Bash
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset in distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of system and application reliability
  • Strong English communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in microservice-based production environments
  • Exposure to data pipelines, telemetry, or large-scale monitoring
  • Understanding of networking, message queues, and distributed architectures
  • Experience in industrial, robotics, or hardware-adjacent environments
  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD or similar)
