About the Company
The company is building a multimodal AI + IoT care orchestration platform designed to support elderly individuals in living independently for longer.
The system integrates four core components:
- Passive mmWave radar
- Biometric wearable data
- A home hub
- A presence-aware AI companion
The goal is not surveillance, but earlier interpretation, better timing of interventions, and more actionable support for families.
The product is currently at MVP stage and moving toward a live pilot with 25 users. This is not a research or strategy-only role. The immediate focus is on tightening execution, improving technical clarity, reducing delivery risk, and reaching pilot readiness.

Core Responsibilities
As Interim CTO / Technical Lead, you will own the technical execution layer for the next phase.
System Architecture
- Finalise and stress-test the MVP architecture across all components (radar, wearable, hub, backend, AI layer)
Delivery Leadership
- Establish a clear operating cadence with the Guangzhou engineering team
- Drive execution against milestones
Technical Risk Management
- Build and maintain a live risk register covering integration, reliability, alerts, privacy, and deployment
Pilot Readiness
- Define what must be true for the 25-user pilot to launch reliably and responsibly
AI/ML Judgment
- Provide practical guidance on anomaly detection, behavioural modelling, and data/label strategy
- Focus on MVP deliverability rather than open-ended research
Engineering Governance
- Improve ownership clarity, escalation paths, documentation standards, and decision-making

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- Proven track record of shipping real systems (not just designing them)
- Experience with complex integrated products (hardware + software + data)
- Strong technical judgment across backend, infrastructure, and edge constraints
- Experience managing distributed or offshore teams
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and under tight deadlines
Preferred Experience
- IoT, edge computing, wearables, or ambient sensing
- Health, security, or privacy-sensitive systems
- Anomaly detection, behavioural modelling, or multimodal data systems
- Cross-cultural engineering leadership (especially with offshore teams)
- Mandarin is a plus, but not required
- Previous experience as Interim CTO, Founding Engineer, or early-stage CTO

Working Model
This is a founder-led company with a clear product vision and direction.
You will:
- Work closely with the CEO
- Lead the Guangzhou engineering team
- Establish the operating model required to reach pilot readiness
Product vision remains founder-led, while technical execution, architecture, and delivery are owned by this role.
Compensation
- Market-rate monthly fee for an interim CTO engagement
- Small milestone-based equity component
- Potential to structure a longer-term CTO role based on delivery and impact
